New management team at OCN

Exciting times at Otra Cosa Network. Our two key management roles at OCN Peru has been safely transitioned into new hands this quarter. Emily Skinner, who did a great job building up our HELP projects, moved on in June and has been replaced by Laura Hoskins from England who is fluent in Spanish and knows Peru well from a year volunteering in Cusco – and from her Peruvian boyfriend! (For Laura’s profile click here)

Also, Najin Kim who has been our Operations Manager for almost 3 years now moved on during August to be replaced by Alton Germain from Upstate New York.

Najin has been the body & soul of OCN Peru for the last 3 years, taking it from the small but growing organisation that we left her with to a well organised and disciplined outfit that has grown substantially in terms of numbers and scope, helping more projects with more volunteers and running our own HELP projects as well as supporting many community run partner projects.

Although Najin will in many ways be a hard act to follow, we’re very happy to have recruited Alton Germain to join us as new Operations Manager. Alton comes with a wealth of experience including 7 years working in Latin America with international volunteers, so is a great fit to pick up from where Najin left off. We’ve been going through a two month training & transition phase. So, hopefully everything has kept running smoothly, but please forgive us for any short term hiccups while we get everything handed over.

Finally just to say a big THANK YOU to Najin and Emily for all they’ve done and Juany and I look forward to even better things to come in the future with Alton and Laura at the helm of OCN Peru.
